What Christmas traditions do you have with your family?

I want to start this blog off by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!!!

Shifting gears a little bit since today is Christmas Day, I want to lighten things up a bit and talk about traditions that I have with my family and then I want to know what traditions you have with yours.

As an adult, Christmas morning has always started off by heading over to my uncle’s house where we exchange gifts with family and then the men cook a huge breakfast for the family while we all enjoy a mimosa…or two and then making sure we do all the dishes. My job while cooking? Toast!!! Hey, I only burnt the toast one year. Maybe that’s why I have been stuck with that job.

The reason this started, was at the time my cousins were just young and it was easy for the family to go there instead of my uncle and aunt having to get the kids ready, in the car, and set to go. It started at our house when my sister and I were young then to my uncles and now that we are all adults, we head up to London for a few days since my sister now has the youngest kids.

This is a day that I try to stay away from social and enjoy spending time with family. I will normally post wishing everyone a Merry Christmas on my person accounts and then turning data off my phone. This way I am not distracted by notifications and will only get calls or texts from family and friends.
