How do you work towards completing your New Years Resolutions?

This was a post we made around this time last year and it’s just as relevant now.

I want to start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year before we get into the fun topic of New Years resolutions.

Hopefully everyone got to spend some quality time away from work and enjoy time with family and friends! Like last year, I was in London at my sister’s house and got to spend a lot of time playing with my nephew and twin nephew and niece. Yes, my poor sister! I joke but the kids are amazing and are a blast to be around.

A lot of people this time of the year, make new years resolutions to better themselves and by the end of January, maybe the end of February they have abandoned those resolutions. For some it’s a lack of motivation, lack of support or for some it’s just getting lazy.

Don’t get me wrong, I am far from perfect and have done this myself, making a resolution and then forgetting all about it after a couple months.

Last year that all changed! I set goals for myself and broke them down by month in a spreadsheet, so I was able to track them. That soon turned into a project in my ToDoist app. In the app I have each goal broken down by month as well. This helps me see what I need to work on to reach my goals. Also, in the app it’s mobile and I have it anywhere I go.

I will continue to use this method again this year as I have created a new project in my ToDoist app with monthly goals for 2019. I set a due date for each goal, with reminders (reminders are apart of the premium feature) so that way I am notified to hold myself accountable.

If you want to use this method, contact me and I can send you a template to add to your ToDoist app so that you are able to keep track of your goals. If you wish to upgrade your app to the premium version so you are able to get notifications as well, all you have to do is click the button below!
