There are a lot of ways to get traffic to your websites, funnels or as we mentioned last week, your funnel hub.
Using organic social media is a great way to not only build relationships with your audience but in turn get traffic to your sites. The question then becomes, how do you do that.
Of the last couple of weeks I read and finished Russell Brunson’s latest book, Traffic Secrets and combined with his other 2 books, Dotcom Secrets and Expert Secrets it has changed the way I see marketing and I’m so excited to not only talk about what I have learned but show you as well.
One thing I talked about 2 weeks ago was having a publishing plan and there I talked about how important it was to have one in place. Today I want to dive a little deeper into that post and show you how to create a plan of your own.
Understand the history and the goal of the platform you’re using
From the beginning of social media with messaging platforms like IRC, ICQ, MSN Messenger, AOL to the beginning of Social media with platforms like LiveJournal, Friendster and MySpace to platforms we use today like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok, social media platforms have come and gone but knowing the history of each what how they were used can go a long way when you are creating a publishing plan.
Knowing how they started and the algorithms they used will help you when researching how to get your content in front of the audience you want to reach.
Once you know the history of the platform you want to publish on and know the way the algorithm works you can then come up with a goal to start publishing and better track your success.
Find your Dream 100 on the platform your working with and model what they are doing
If you have been reading some of the blogs I have posted over the last little bit, you would have read about your “dream 100†and hopefully by now started to figure out who they are.
Once you know who they are you will need to start to find them online and to do that, Russell Brunson talks about a few questions you should ask yourself…
What are the top websites that your dream customers are visiting?
What are the forums are they active in?
What Facebook Groups are they actively engaging in?
What are the influencer accounts they are following on Instagram and Facebook?
What are the podcasts they listen to?
What email newsletters are they subscribed to and reading?
What are the blogs that they are reading?
What are the YouTube channels they are following and watching?
Identify the publishing strategy and create your publishing plan
Now that you know who your dream 100 is and where they are it’s time to start to come up with a strategy.
When you’re creating your strategy you have to first look at what the platform has to offer and what channels you can use to publish.
If you’re on Facebook you will have to look at your business page, your personal profile, Facebook Live, messenger and groups. Those are a few of the ways you can publish on that platform. Or if you’re on Instagram you could have both a personal and business account as well as stories, IGTV, Reels as well as Instagram Live.
Now that you have figured out the channels you can publish to, you will want to do your research in order to create your plan. What is your Dream 100 posting about? Use that and model what is working.
The next thing you want to do is engage with your audience. Having a publishing plan is just the start of it but in order to work your way into your dream 100 you will have to engage with them and build your relationship.
Fill your funnel or website with traffic
Now I will say I skipped the 2 parts of this that talk working your way into your dream 100 and buying your way in but we’ll dive a little deeper into organic and paid ways in a little later on.
For now, we’ll skip that and talk about filling your funnels and website with traffic because ultimately, that should be your goal.
Now that you know your dream 100, found where they are online and have started to create a publishing plan that models what’s working you will want to use that to get traffic to your website and funnels. Before you do that, I can’t stress enough that you will want to use the 80/20 rule. This is where you provide more value than what you’re promoting.
When you’re creating your content, the more value you provide the more others will start to see you as an expert in your field. Doing this you will start to see traffic starting to come in but it all comes down to how you do it.
I have been talking about this for a long time now and when you’re creating content and your publishing plan it all comes down to 3 simple things…Hook, Story, Offer.
You can be the biggest expert in your field but if you don’t have a way to relate with your audience through story telling you will have a hard time getting traffic unless you’re willing to spend a lot more than you need on ads to get paid traffic. Ideally you’re going to want to get as much organic traffic as possible.
Hopefully this helps clear some things up and helps you get started with your strategy plan. If you still have questions, I would like to hear them and help you get started!
