What a crazy couple of weeks! Like I mentioned last week, I took a week off and was in Hamilton for my girlfriend’s birthday and then off camping with her family and some friends.
After that, like I talk about in this email, I had to head back up to Mississauga for an event I can’t yet speak of at the Samsung offices.
My moto “this week”, as I write this….get’er done!!!

Why Are You Comparing Yourself to Others?
When it comes to social media, why are you comparing yourself to others? This is something so many marketers and coaches talk about. No matter what industry you’re in or what job you do, each of us is at a different stage in our lives and careers.
Take me, for example. I’m a digital marketer. There are people who started before me and are, by some standards, far more successful, making more money than I do. There are also people who started before me and are struggling. It doesn’t matter who you are. You are where you’re supposed to be right now. As long as you’re working hard and learning, that’s all you can do. Enjoy the process.
Let Them
I recently finished reading the book “Let Them” by Mel Robbins. The core idea? Let them.
Here’s an example: I took a trip to Hamilton and decided to take a bus so I could get some work done. The bus showed up 30 minutes late, and due to the Air Canada strike, I didn’t get the seat I paid for. The entire trip was delayed, and I ended up 45 minutes behind schedule for the day.
I could have gotten upset or angry, but I decided to use the “Let Them” theory, funny enough the book I was listening to on the way up. Let them be late. Looking back, it didn’t change anything. I still got to my destination, got everything done, and enjoyed the trip.
So, no matter what it is, whether it’s someone’s opinion of you or something out of your control, “Let It” or “Let Them”.
New Opportunities
As I’m writing this, I’m preparing to head to the Samsung offices in Mississauga for an event I can’t discuss until next week. When I got the email, I only had a day to decide if I could make it.
I had just returned from a week-long vacation to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and go camping with friends and her family. The event was just two days after I got back. I decided to take the opportunity, planning ahead to take the train so I could work on the way and not miss any work time.
By doing this, I will be able to attend the event, meet content creators in a field I’m interested in, network with influencers, and explore potential partnerships to grow my side hustle, Let’s Chat Tech.
If a new opportunity is presented, don’t turn it down. Plan ahead and make sure you can take advantage of it.
