Back in June of 2019 I attended a networking event, the purpose of this event was to give everyone in the room a chance to not only network with other business owners but have a chance to give a pitch about your company in front of the room.
Although this was a great event and I met a lot of new business owners, the pitch and networking part of the morning were not the biggest take away.
After I had the amazing breakfast that was provided while listening to others pitch and then my chance to pitch, I networked for a little bit. After that, a team member from hotel that hosted the event, came to our group that was chatting and asked if we wanted a tour of the hotel.
The purpose was to show us the spaces they had to hold events and meetings as well as some of the room styles they had so if the events we were to host there, our out of town guests could stay right there at the hotel.
At that time, I really had no need for the event space as I had so many other options, I decided to take the tour anyway. I am so happy I did!
After looking at the hotel rooms and some of the larger event spaces, one of the last rooms we looked at was an amphitheater style of room, similar to what you see at University’s. The second I saw this room, the ideas started to flood in as if a dam broke and the water started to pour out.
As I mentioned briefly in my blog last week, “As Entrepreneurs, we need to stick together”, I had an idea to start a Mastermind team where like-minded entrepreneurs help each other grow as well as hold each other accountable for our goals.
Once I saw this amphitheater, I knew that would be the perfect spot for us to help these Mastermind Meetings as it had everything we needed. It was perfect to hold our presentations in front of the group as well have a chance to network once Covid restrictions are lifted.
That said, before we actually start doing in person Masterminds in the amphitheater, we are going to start doing these meetings via Zoom just so we can be sure that the rooms at the Holiday in are ready and we can make sure our plan to host these meetings in person keep everyone as safe as possible.
These will be meetings will happen quarterly with an ongoing channel where the group can continue the conversation after our meetings. In these meetings, there will be a portion where we have a chance to give a presentation to the group, helping in the area you’re an expert in and then a section of the meeting where we will have a chance to talk about our goals and then hold each other accountable and help each other reach those goals.
