You’re sitting down wondering what to do with your life and then all the sudden that light blub goes off on the top of your head…see what I did there? You’re tired of have that employee mindset and what to do something that’s your own. You want to be your own boss.
You start doing some research, you come up with a name for your company, your logo and you’ve got your business plan. Ok, you’re ready to go…now what? That’s exactly where I was a short while ago. How can I get this idea off the ground and get clients or customers? Well the best thing I did was get myself out there and network.
It started with one event that was more of a social setting. Have a good, local craft beer and chat with business people from Windsor and exchange business cards. Very successful 2 hours having fun meeting new people. Now what do you do with all these business cards that you just collected? Fire off some emails reintroducing yourself to everyone you met and tell them one more time your idea and what you want to do.
This is exactly what I did and from just knowing about this one single event I have grown my network and now know about networking events almost nightly.
Just one simple event and saying hi to someone can be a world of change for you. It sure was for me! Meeting so may like minded people that are passionate and want everyone local to succeed and grow. It takes just a small amount of your time, maybe a drink and a good smile.
