Why is blogging so important?

If you have been a reader of my blog for any length of time, you will know I am definitely not a writer. That’s ok though as I am just starting to find my voice and good or bad, I am absolutely loving writing them for you as I try to provide as much value as possible.

The funny part about all of this, in school I hated English class and if you see the number of red lines under the majority of what I type, you’ll understand why.

I was never someone that was considered “book smart” when I was in school and was told the trades were where I needed to be. Taking all shop classes and then being a part of OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) I never really needed to focus on classes like English. I managed to get by so I could graduate and begin my career in the trades.

There are times I think back and wish that I had this drive to learn and write like I do now. Makes me wonder what might have been. That said, I wouldn’t change it because everything I have been through is a story I can tell and as I start to find my style and my voice in these blogs, those stories help to get my point across.

When I first started writing these blogs it was not because I wanted to but it was because I heard and read that I “needed” to write them for my business because that was the only way I would be able to grow.

I regret writing them for that specific reason but don’t regret starting my blogs and pushing through. Russell Brunson always talks about publishing something every day. Find a platform you love and stick with it for an entire year. Now, you can imagine that writing a blog every single day could become time consuming, so I thought why not do it weekly and stick with that for an entire year.

Fast forward just over 4 years later and this being my 179th blog it’s become a habit, a routine and something I love doing.

Why would you want to commit and write a blog for your business though?

When it comes to writing blogs, podcasting or even posting online, your goal should be to turn your readers and listeners into traffic you own. I have said it before and I will say it again, social media is a rented space and we don’t know if and when Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or any other platform will just up and shutdown like MySpace did.

Using a blog for example, you can use that to start building a relationship with your readers to the point, they look forward to it daily/weekly/monthly and is a very valuable tool for you and if you offer value with a relatable CTA it could turn your cold and warm traffic into traffic you own.

Have you ever noticed at the end of all my blogs, I have a CTA that ties into what I’m talking about in the blog? The hope and goal is to provide you with enough value here in the blog that it only makes sense to take things to the next level and provide you with more value in whatever way I can.

Taking you from the blog to a Funnel/Website where I can provide you with more value helps you in the long run and it always helps me in getting more traffic I own.

This also helps both of us as I can provide you with even more value by email without spamming you.

Another great way for me to provide you with value is in our Facebook Group, Entrepreneur Momentum. This is a group for entrepreneurs that are ready to take things to the next level and help each other grow in the way of providing value without being in a group that is filled with spam.
