Views don't pay your bills. This does.
Let’s chat about metrics.
So many people are focused on going viral, on getting all the views and all the likes. But that’s just vanity. It’s great when a video pops off, but views, likes, and comments don’t pay the bills.
Vanity Metrics Are Lying To You
Everyone wants the viral video. Hundreds of thousands of views, comments stacking up, the algorithm finally noticing you.
Feels great. Means almost nothing.
Views, likes, and comments don’t pay the bills. They’re vanity metrics. They tell you people saw your content. They don’t tell you if it did anything for your business.
The Metric That Actually Pays The Bills
Here’s the comparison I use with every client. Video A gets 100,000 views, 5,000 likes, and zero DMs. Video B gets 100 views, 10 likes, and 20 DMs.
Video B wins. Every time.
If people are messaging you, visiting your site, or landing in your funnel, that content converted. That’s the only job content has. If a post isn’t doing that, the fix isn’t more reach. It’s a different strategy.
How I Track What's Actually Working
Every morning I pull the follower count from each of my platforms and log it in a Notion database. Not the vanity report from Meta or the monthly export, the actual number, tracked daily.
That habit shows me in real time which platform is working and which one isn’t. If I’m losing followers somewhere, the content there isn’t landing. If I’m gaining on another platform, I know to double down.
This is the same system built into LifeHQ. If you want the exact dashboard I use to track this daily, it’s already set up for you. CLICK HERE to get it.
